Crouch was only used as a substitute in two of England’s four games in South Africa.
“I was bitterly frustrated at the World Cup,” Crouch told the Mail on Sunday. “I’d been given the number nine shirt and thought I was going to play.
“I didn’t really get a sniff but I’ll always be ready to play for my country. Others can judge what type of player I am. But I’ve always scored goals and always will.”
