Pinto’s current contract with Barcelona is set to expire at the end of this season.
Pinto told Barca’s official website: “We spoke to the club about a month ago and they told us they intended to extend my contract for another year.
“I’m very happy here and I think we will be able to officially confirm my new deal within a few days.”
Pinto added: “The boss [Pep Guardiola] is the key piece and we have won so much thanks to him and his hard work.”
