McClaren has been out of work since being axed by Wolfsburg last month.
The People reports that McClaren is keen on a quick return to management and the former Middlesbrough boss is on Besiktas’ short-list.
Besiktas are looking to bring in a new boss after Bernd Schuster decided to quit the club last week.
