Vieira has previously indicated that he would like to continue his playing career, but City are yet to decide whether to offer the former Arsenal star a new deal.
Mancini said: “Patrick has been fantastic. Every time he has played he has been like a father figure for other players.
“I want to speak to him for his opinion on the future, but there is a chance he could be a player or a coach here.”
