The 26-year-old’s current contract with Schalke expires at the end of next season and the club are keen for the winger to sign a new long-term deal.
“It is true, we have submitted an offer to Jefferson,” Schalke sporting director Hors Heldt told the German press.
“Now he is in Peru but we will continue the talks when he returns at the end of June.”
Farfan has recently been linked with the likes of AC Milan and Juventus.
