Coentrao has hinted that he could leave the Portuguese side this summer.
“My future is not yet certain. I know there is interest from Real Madrid. Now I am going on holiday and then we will see what happens,” he told A Bola.
“If I quit Benfica, I will return again one day. It is a promise on my part but it is also something which needs to be said. I love Benfica and have taken the club to my heart.”
