Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo reports that Liverpool have been in touch with Barcelona over a January move for Keita.
The Reds face competition from the likes of Russian giants Anzhi for the 31-year-old midfielder.
Barcelona are reportedly looking for around £14million for Keita. The midfielder’s current contract with Barcelona is set to expire in the summer of 2014.
