Abidal’s current deal expires at the end of the season and he has recently been linked with a move away from the club.
“Now we are only waiting for the signatures for the new deal with Barcelona,” Abidal told Canal Plus.
“We are at 90 per cent for closing the agreement and I am happy because with this I can continue my adventure in Barcelona.”
Abidal is expected to sign a new two-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months depending upon the number of appearances he makes.
