The Gunners have won their last five league games, but are still 12 points behind Manchester City who are in first place.
Djourou told Sky Sports News: “The season is long and hopefully they will drop points. Manchester City are in incredible form at the moment and they look to be the strongest team.
“But, as a player of Arsenal, me and my team-mates know we have the ability to come back.
“I’m not saying we’re going to win the title but every game we have, we have to take seriously and game-by-game because we have a chance.”
