Van Persie was the league’s top scorer and pivotal to Arsenal’s eventual third place finish.
“In my experience, and where we are at the moment, we need two strikers to get over 20 goals,” said Ferguson on the club’s website.
“I would love that to happen. It’s quite remarkable considering he’s got seven goals in [his last] seven games. I’m pleased with that and I think his fitness will improve even more.”
