The Gunners hope they can keep up with the Premiership’s big spenders in the summer market and also persuade Thierry Henry from leaving the club.
Arsenal chief executive Keith Edelman said: “The reason why was because we were concerned that without it the club could be disadvantaged when trying to sign players.”
