Newcastle boss Allardyce: Martins will get back on track

He said: “Obviously what happened at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night was disappointing.

“Oba was disappointed – and I was disappointed for him – but chances come and go and strikers score some and miss some, and at least he was there to miss them.

“But what Oba cannot do is let this get him down. I told him he did great getting the ball past the keeper at Arsenal just after they scored, but then he didn’t hit it hard enough and the defender got his shot off the line.

“It was a shame for us and a pity for him because, for the next couple of days, he is going to think it was all his fault.

“But he cannot do that. This is a team game and we are all in this together.”
