Cruyff wrote in his column in El Periodicio: “No-one has died from being the 12th man.
“Often a player on the bench is the most decisive. A coach can use him to ignite a fire, or as water to put one out. This season is very long and it’s not just about eleven players, but the whole squad.
“It will be about moving the players in and out of the team – and that includes Ronaldinho, who will not be a constant starter this season.”
