Chelsea boss Phil Scolari blasted referee Mike Riley for dismissing the England ace in the game.
He said: “For me, the sending off of Lampard was justified. He made a very hard tackle in the centre of the field and could have hurt Xabi.
“He was lucky Xabi jumped or it could have been a lot more serious.”
Arbeloa added: “Those three points against Chelsea were very important for us. The dressing room was ecstatic after the game.
“Now we need to finish off all the hard work we have put in against Everton and make it through to the next round of the FA Cup.”
