Arsenal chairman rules out Wenger exit

Sections of the Arsenal fan-base have called for Wenger to be sacked after six seasons without trophy and following the departure of key players such as Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri this summer.

“It’s complete and utter rubbish and absolute nonsense. I think he is happy enough and we are happy enough,” Hill-Wood told the Daily Star.

“We have brought some new players in and although I don’t know that much about many of them I think, generally speaking, they are going to improve the squad,” he added.

Hill-Wood has also agreed on Barcelona vice-chairman Josep Maria Bartomeu’s claim that the Catalan side got Fabregas on the cheap.

Hill-Wood said: “He is absolutely right – they did get him on the cheap. But he wanted to go back there and we respected that.”
