Arsenal have reached an agreement with Blackburn Rovers to sign versatile teenage forward Igor Tyjon.

The Premier League champions are finally set to land the 18-year-old after pursuing him across several transfer windows.

The Athletic reports that Tyjon will undergo a medical today, August 21, before completing his move. Arsenal previously submitted several offers, but Blackburn’s refusal to sell created a prolonged stand-off between the clubs.

Tyjon joined Rovers from Rochdale in 2023 and quickly progressed through their academy. He scored 13 goals in 33 under-21 appearances, having also featured 14 times for the under-18s.

The youngster has already made three senior appearances for Blackburn. His flexibility allows him to operate as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder or winger.

Tyjon has represented England at under-16, under-17 and under-18 level, while also playing for Poland’s under-16s. Arsenal will now look to develop another highly rated prospect within their academy pathway.
