The two are set to meet each other in the Carling Cup final on Sunday.
Villa skipper Petrov said: “This £30million price tag is really heavy and he has to deal with that.
“Some people think he is arrogant and moody but he just concentrates on the game. He is really hard on himself.”
The Bularian internaitonal’s will travel together to play Poland after the final on Sunday.
Petrov added: “We are flying together to play Poland away. We will have a good chat.”
