The Chelsea midfielder missed the training on Monday due to a calf problem, he picked up during the 2-1 win over Russia on Saturday.
“While 18 players trained in the stadium, Ballack was treated in the team hotel by DFB physiotherapist Klaus Eder,” read a statement on the German Football Federation website.
“The 32-year-old midfielder told coach Joachim Low at lunchtime about his knock.”
