He told The Sun: “It’s fantastic we’ve managed to get Thierry Henry.
“He’s one of the best strikers in the world and he will fit in well at Barcelona.
“The reality is we tried to sign him a year ago but he chose to stay with Arsenal back then. For whatever reason, he’s now left and thankfully we’ve got him.
“I think it was important we sent out a signal to the rest of Spain by signing him.
“It proves we want to make up for what happened with losing the league and we’ll get the best players available to help us achieve our goals.
“I’ll definitely prefer playing with him as opposed to against me. I have played against Henry a lot of times and it’s never been easy.
“He will bring more competition for places at this club and that can only be a good thing.”
