Lampard has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants.
Xavi said: “We’re only halfway through this season, so it’s not the time to talk about transfers. But he is an exceptional footballer.
“He is very complete in all facets and his influence on Chelsea and England is very important.
“We (Barcelona) would receive him with open arms. We all know Lampard and that he could contribute a lot to the team.”
