The Brazilian defender is confident that he can reinstate himself in the Barcelona first-team following Pep Guardiola’s exit.
“Pep won the affection and respect of the people. People are grateful to someone who has given so much joy,” Alves said.
“I am a person trying to do my job the best I can and I respect the decisions of the coach. There will never be a problem with me if I play or not.
“I intend to be here next year, that’s why I renewed my contract. If I had not been comfortable then I would not have done it.”
