The club historically refused to let sponsors put their name on the club shirt until they decided to allow UNICEF to sponsor them for free. But the new deal with the Qatar Foundation has broken with the famous tradition.
Vice-President Javier Faus said: “It has been decided that the Qatar Foundation logo will go on the front of the shirt, on the breast. UNICEF will go on the back underneath the player’s name.”
