The German side have managed to sign international stars such as Luca Toni, Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in recent seasons.
“It is one of our goals to lure some big players to Munich. We are closely monitoring the situation of some star players, but there are limited chances to sign a big name,” said Nerlinger to TZ.
“However, we don’t want to be like Real Madrid. They failed to make it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the sixth consecutive time. A team full of stars is not a guarantee for success.”
