Beckham set to rejoin Milan

Beckham spent the second half of last season on loan at Milan and is keen on a return to secure a place in England’s World Cup squad.

Beckham has also been linked with a move to Tottenham.

“There are other options available, but none that will stop me going to Milan,” Beckham told the Mail on Sunday.

“It is close to being finalised.

“When I left, they said they wanted me to come straight back. I had such a marvellous time there. They are a great club.

“Harry Redknapp has been incredible about me, but I’ve always said since I left United that to play for another English club would be difficult.”

He added: “It’s been important for us to qualify and for me to keep my fitness and stay in every squad.

“I’ve been lucky to be part of this campaign and be successful. I’ve been lucky enough to play in three World Cups and, hopefully, I’ll be part of the squad, but I know I have to work hard, respect my fitness and then it’s up to the manager.

“If I’m part of that, it will be amazing. If I’m not, I know he’s honest enough to pick the best team to be successful.”
