Begovic joined Stoke in a £3.25million deal from Portsmouth on Monday.
The keeper claims he joined the Potters instead of Spurs as he feels he has a better chance of playing at the Britannia Stadium.
“Sorensen is the current No.1 but I intend to work hard and play regularly soon,” said the 22-year-old.
“I was very close to signing for Tottenham, but rejected them due to sporting reasons.”
