Benitez insists he will stay at Anfield until 2014, despite calls for him to be axed by Liverpool legends such as Ronnie Whelan.
The Spaniard said: “Leaving has never gone through my head – clearly I want to fight.
“I signed a long-term contract and have belief in this club. Inside, I am as strong as ever.”
Liverpool face Stoke in the Premier League on Saturday.
Benitez added: “Everyone knows the team’s not playing at the level it can.
“When we lose, everyone loses – the fans, the players, the staff. I can understand the fans’ frustrations but we feel the same. We want to win for them.
“But as for my future, all I will say is that my future is against Stoke – I have to be ready for the next game.”
