Blackburn scout Martin Glover reportedly watched the Spain Under-21 international in action in the game against Valladolid last month.
“We know about this interest but Blackburn have not officially spoken to us,” a Gijon spokesman said.
“This subject is over until the end of the season. If we receive an offer it is normal to consider it.”
