Cahill will miss Bolton’s next three matches after being sent off at Arsenal over the weekend.
“Gaz has been a big player for us and is obviously an important part of the defence but whoever comes in has got a lot of experience and has played a lot of games in the top flight,” the US international told the Bolton Evening News.
“That’s the way football goes because you have got to shrug off the setbacks.
“We have got to make sure we really dig deep and show how strong our squad is.”
