Buffon has just recently returned from injury.
“I am here thanks to the Coach and my teammates, so I would like to give them a hand,” Buffon told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It will be a huge game against Chelsea and it is highly satisfying to be in the last 16 of this competition again.
“This is a return to our roots, to the big stage, and to the games that really count.
“We want to get through because when you get to this level it is the winning that counts.
“Every team at this stage have great champions in every position and Chelsea are no exception.
“But we have been waiting for this game for three years and I am convinced that our character will enable us to surprise people.”
