Casillas not a Man City transfer target

City has been linked with a move for the Real Madrid shot-stopper in recent weeks.

Hughes told As: “Iker Casillas is a world-class keeper, no doubt about it, but we have different aims in the transfer market to strengthen our team.

“Famous names have been linked to us but people must be more realistic. The list of our transfer targets grows up every day if you read the press.

“The reality is that we have four or five positions to improve and we are working on it. There is a lot of speculation and the problem is that many people, agents, are trying to take advantage of it.

“We do not need intermediaries or agents to make transfers. We [Cook and Hughes] are in charge of everything and people have to speak with us.

“We did not give any power to anybody; we are the ones who deal with this.”
