Mourinho said: “I think he has improved a lot. For a striker to play in this country it is difficult.
“In other countries, strikers get time to adapt. We knew he had the qualities to do that in the English game.
“He has improved every year and now he is on top of his game. But he also has to depend on his team-mates.
“He is one of the players though who has performed throughout the season and he would be a candidate for player of the year.”
