Drogba will be away for the African Cup of Nations in January, as Chelsea are on top of the Premier League table.
Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel and Salomon Kalou will also be missing.
“Didier knows everybody will do their best to make sure that when he comes back we will be in the same position,” he said in the Daily Mirror.
“In football you never know, but I am confident that we can.
“If your best goalscorer goes away then you always miss him, but the same goes for all four of them because Essien is a great player, so is Mikel and Salomon is important to us.
“But everybody will have their chance to impress the manager and show him they are worth being in the team.”
