The 33-year-old has fallen out of favour at Inter and is interested in leaving the club in order to save his place in the France World Cup team, according to News of the World.
Vieira has previously insisted he would stay at Inter until his contract expires in June next year.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Vieira a £50,000-a-week contract.
