Cole has been out with knee and foot injuries, and have only made one Premiership start this season.
He said: “I’m pleased to say that since I took off my protective boot last week, everything is going according to plan. I’m walking freely.
“If my recovery continues to go to plan, I will play again this season.
“The England matches at the end of the season are also a possibility.”
