The Sunday Mirror says Cisse wants Liverpool to lower their £8million asking price for him.
The French striker joined Liverpool from Auxerre in the summer of 2004 for £14million and has been on loan at Olympic Marseille this season.
Cisse said: “I always said that if Marseille qualified for the Champions League I would like to stay here.
“When we have achieved that we will see what happens, but there will be other problems to deal with.
“I think £8m is perhaps a little expensive, but we will talk about it later.”
