Podolski’s current contract with Cologne is set to expire in 2013 and the striker has recently been linked with a move to English giants Arsenal.
“Lukas Podolski is our most valuable player at the moment,” he said in an official statement. “We want him to enjoy life at our club.
“And we will surely explore all possibilities to make him stay at Cologne in the future.”
