Davies: I can establish myself at Middlesbrough

Davies told the Evening Gazette: “When I went out on loan to Queen’s Park Rangers I said at the time that my aim was to captain Middlesbrough one day.

“That hasn’t changed, but I still feel that I have something to prove here.

“If I had signed for Derby I wouldn’t have had the season I have had with Middlesbrough in the Premiership.

“I want to stay and I want to improve. I have worked hard on going forward and tried to help the club in what it wants to achieve.

“I think next season will be harder still. There will be more competition for places but I want to be in the team no matter what it takes.”
