The 24-year-old is looking forward to the clash with Aston Villa on Monday.
“Could we win the title this year? Everybody’s hoping so, but we’re still in our first year and you have to be realistic as well,” he told The People.
“We can all scream ‘Manchester City are going for the title’, but let us see how we develop.
“Of course it’s good to go for a prize but we have to be realistic as well and say this is our first year.”
He added: “We’re doing well at the moment and the gap is not that big, but we’re still at an early stage of both the season and the way the squad is building an understanding.
“The Villa game will be a good marker for the first phase of the season.”
