The new deal will keep the 31-year-old at the club until the summer of 2013.
The 31-year-old has in recent months been linked with a move away from Getafe.
An official club statement read: “Cata Diaz has extended his contract with Getafe CF until June 30, 2013. The player has signed his contract extension and thus maintains his link with the club.”
