The 25-year-old insists he will not leave the club even if they are relegated to the 2. Bundesliga.
“I’m very happy at Wolfsburg and I’m pleased to play for this club,” Diego was quoted as saying by Sport Bild.
“I knew that the club were working on a long-term project when I signed for Wolfsburg and I was aware of the risks of being part of such a project.
“I’m here to help the club and I won’t walk away if things are not going as planned. It doesn’t really matter though as I’m confident that we won’t be relegated.”
