Evans returned to training earlier this week. The highly-rated defender has been out of action with an ankle injury since the 2-1 defeat against Wolves last month.
But Ferguson remains unsure if Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic will feature against Bolton.
Ferguson said: “We will have to wait and see. Jonny Evans started training this week so hopefully we will maybe have him for Saturday.”
