Everton boss Moyes in the market for new right-back

Tony Hibbert who was first choice last season, is out with a groin injury.

Moyes told the Liverpool Echo: “We have really missed Hibbo. It’s been tough for us as we have not had a recognised right-back and that is something we are going to have to look at in January.

“We have been so short with him being out and it has meant that I have been having to find solutions when we have been running out of cover.

“We could have coped with losing one but when we lost Sandro and then Phil last Sunday, it has meant we have been juggling things around.

“I have had to ask Joseph to play there and that has been the only alternative. It is not an ideal situation.

“We feel as if we can get ourselves through to Christmas and then in January we hope to maybe try and get one or two people in.

“But, as everybody is well aware, January isn’t the best time to tempt people in and buy people and sometimes it takes the players time to settle.”
