United have long been linked with a move for the Everton centre-back, but the Toffees are reulctant to sell.
A Goodison insider told the Sunday Mirror: “Jack is one of the brightest talents here but, although David Moyes wants to keep him, everyone has a price.
“It will take big money to sign him and United are interested. He [Alex Ferguson] has a good relationship with the Everton manager, unlike what happened in the summer with City.”
