Everton skipper Neville: More to come

He told evertonTV: “In the back of our minds, to get to Liverpool’s level we need to take our chances and show a little more composure in the final third. There were moments in the game where we could have counter-attacked against them and got a goal.

“But it is a measure of how far we have come that we are the first team to keep a clean sheet at Liverpool this season and we are talking about what we need to do to take that next step.

“The last two weeks in training have been very intense – as intense as a pre-season. The boss said we were going to be the fittest team that has gone to Anfield and we were on the day – we kept going all the way to the end.

“Team spirit at the moment is 10 out of 10. We had a bit of a wobble after the Blackburn game because our season was teetering but we have come back and shown good attitude.”
