Ipswich Town and Sunderland are monitoring Independiente del Valle winger Emerson Pata as they assess late attacking options.

The Ecuadorian has emerged as an intriguing target following an impressive domestic campaign, but neither club has committed to an approach.

Ontheminute.com understands that both sides have gathered information on the 22-year-old ahead of the transfer deadline. Interest remains exploratory, with recruitment teams still deciding whether Pata fits their immediate plans.

The wide forward has scored eight goals and supplied one assist in Ecuador’s LigaPro this season. His direct running and willingness to attack the penalty area have made him a growing influence for Independiente del Valle.

Pata can operate from the left or across the forward line, offering useful tactical flexibility. He has also gained experience in South America’s continental competitions.

Ipswich and Sunderland must now decide whether to formalise their interest. Waiting too long could allow rival clubs to enter the race for one of Ecuadorian football’s rising attackers.
