Ferguson was charged after comments about Martin Atkinson following a game with Chelsea earlier this month, in which Ferguson implied the official was not impartial.
He has also been fined £30,000 and will miss the games with Bolton, West Ham, Fulham, Manchester City in the FA Cup and Everton.
