Ferguson calls modern players ‘babies’

Wolves, Stoke and Blackburn have come in for much criticism, with a series of players being injured by Wolves and Stoke players this calendar year.

But Ferguson has defended those teams and their managers, commenting to Inside United that “you couldn’t get two more honest guys than Tony Pulis and Mick McCarthy, their job is to get their players committed and motivated. There is nothing wrong with that. The players are babies now. In my day, you had to hit someone with a hatchet before a referee booked you.”
