The two face each other on Tuesday in the Champions League and Ferguson isn’t complacent ahead of the tie.
“For a few years now, Switzerland has been producing some good young players, like Philippe Senderos (Fulham defender) and they got to the final of the Under-21 Championships last year”, said the United boss.
“A lot of clubs are now scouting in the country.
“Basel are one of the premier teams in Switzerland, obviously, and they have some good experience.
“They have been in Europe quite a few times so we’ll respect that.”
