Fernandes could leave Man City

The 21-year-old is ready to leave the club in order to get regular first team action.

Fernandes told Le Matin: “I will turn 22 in September. If I realise I don’t have chances (to play regularly), then I’ll take another direction.

“[Switzerland boss Ottmar] Hitzfeld has made it clear: to be part of the starting XI we have to play regularly with our respective club.

“When I signed two years ago, I didn’t expect such frenzy. Today I’m part of world’s richest club. It’s a nice experience, but it’s tough to deal with.

“The Kaka affair is to my mind a sign that [Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan] will see things through. We take the best planes and sleep in the best hotels.

“We have a wonderful offensive potential, most of all thanks to Robinho. The fans are very excited, they dream of dethroning Manchester United.”
