Feyenoord ready to cash in on Chelsea target

De Guzman, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been linked with clubs such as Valencia and Chelsea in recent months.

“We’re looking into the possibilities to make sure that Jonathan ends up at the club where he wants to play and to make sure that we get a reasonable transfer fee,” said technical director Leo Beenhakker to Sportweek.

“Jonathan wants to leave Feyenoord in the winter transfer window and that’s also what the club wants to happen. We want to solve the situation as soon as possible, but it also depends on what interested teams want.

“It wouldn’t be bad for Feyenoord if he stays until the end of the season. He could be very useful in the battle for a Europa League spot. However, we can’t afford to let him leave on a free transfer in June.”
